From 30th Oct 22 Stagecoach are reducing the service to just two buses. Currently the 41 bus runs every 90 minutes and  travels along the A428 from Bedford to Northampton stopping at various villages - including Turvey, Lavendon, Olney and Yardley Hastings.

Many people rely on this service to get to work, school, college and university. 

The reduced service will leave students from Olney and Lavendon unable to get home from Bedford college, Northampton College, Northampton University and Bedford Sixth form (unless they wait 3 hours for the bus.)

For Lavendon  and Cold Brayfield this is the only bus service and will mean that unless they have use of a car they will not be able to get to doctors, hospital, dentists or benefit from the shops/services in Bedford, Northampton or Olney. It will also take away the independence of the young/ elderly people of these villages.

The lack of service will mean that non drivers will not be able to afford to get to work (taxi from Lavendon to Northampton  is @ £28. The majority of families will be forced to own 4+ cars. Cycling is not a safe option along these busy 60mph roads.

PLEASE sign and share this petition to get the service fully reinstated by Stagecoach or adequately replaced by another service.
