Staffies are the most common dog in pounds. They are also the most misunderstood breed and the best dogs ever when you take the time to learn, train and love them. We are breeding them faster than we can rescue them and they are being given up daily in numbers due to not being committed enough, especially after lockdowns.
We need to stop irresponsible and illegal breeding of staffies in Australia so we can let the dogs that need homes now be saved. To educate society about this breed, to upgrade systems on who can adopt and get a staffy and the commitment they need to make. We need to also ultimately change the laws in Australia that dogs are not just possessions but living breathing creatures that deserve a safe loving home for life.
