Stop the BOD and management from relocating our Parkland fox!

Stop the BOD and management from relocating our Parkland fox!
The Issue
For several years now in Legends Parkland, a resilient mother fox has found a home amidst our community, raising her kits in the same cherished den annually. She's become an integral part of our local ecosystem and a cherished presence for many who have witnessed her and her kits gracefully coexisting with us. This fox has never posed a threat or inconvenience to anyone, seamlessly blending into the fabric of our environment.
Recently, however, the Board of Directors (BOD) and management have decided they want her gone, seeking to relocate her far from the area she knows as home. They plan to hire a company to implement a relocation tactic, not an outright trapping – which is illegal – but rather a process of "self-relocation." This seemingly benign method effectively involves hazing, disturbing her, and persistently driving her out of her safe space.
The consequences of such actions are grave. When forced to abandon her den, the fox and her young kits are put in grave danger, risking separation, starvation, and encountering unknown and potentially hostile environments. Such disruption can lead to fatal outcomes and severely impacts local biodiversity.
Furthermore, relocating wildlife is rarely effective and often leads to high mortality rates. The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and other reputable wildlife conservation organizations agree that wildlife relocation, especially of family groups during breeding seasons, should be avoided due to the significant stress and potential for injury or death it imposes on the animals involved.
We have a better solution at hand. With responsible wildlife management and community education, we can coexist with our wild neighbors. Implementing non-invasive methods, such as educating the neighborhood on minimizing attractants like food waste, securing trash bins, and respecting fox habitats, ensures our safety while allowing these magnificent creatures to thrive.
Join us in urging the BOD and management to reconsider their plans and opt for more compassionate, sustainable solutions that respect and protect wildlife. Our community values its natural heritage, and by supporting this petition, you stand for a world where animals like our fox can live freely and safely.
Please sign this petition to protect our fox and her kits, and to uphold our commitment to coexist compassionately with wildlife. By signing, you affirm that every creature has the right to its home and its life.
