Stop the Bluffs at Kiskiack development in James City County
The Issue
James City County has long been cherished by residents for its peaceful, rural-suburban feel
But the proposed 276-acre Bluffs at Kiskiack development on Croaker Road, across from the 7-Eleven, will change that. Planned are more than 700 dwelling units (including 178 townhomes, 148 single-family homes, two senior apartment towers, and cluster homes); a multi-story hotel, restaurant, and retail complex; an outdoor concert and event venue; medical offices; and a Presidents Heads park and visitors center.
Tell the James City County Board of Supervisors to vote "NO" on the plan that threatens the serenity and unique character of our community.

The addition of a large development like The Bluffs at Kiskiack risks depleting our area's groundwater supply, stressing surrounding roads with increased traffic and further overcrowding area elementary and middle schools where children's classrooms are now housed in trailers. Why add more problems to the issues James City County is struggling to handle?
Too many of our county's beautiful landscapes give way to concrete and asphalt. Over-development also can lead to environmental degradation and a disruption of the wildlife and natural landscapes we love.
It's time to stand up for our neighborhoods and perserve both the natural beauty and rural character and balance in upper James City County.
