1️⃣ Norwich Township passes stronger protections

• Norwich Township has officially repealed and replaced its wind ordinance with one that provides far greater safeguards for residents, wildlife, and the environment. This new ordinance sets a higher standard for responsible siting, noise limits, water protection, and decommissioning. It’s proof that community action and facts-based advocacy work.

2️⃣ Rebrand: Protect the McKean County Wilds

• Our grassroots group has rebranded from McKean County Residents Against the Black Cherry Wind Project to Protect the McKean County Wilds — reflecting our broader mission to defend McKean County’s forests, water, wildlife, and rural communities from poorly sited industrial projects of any kind.

3️⃣ Partnering with SOAR — Save Our Allegheny Ridges

• We’ve also joined SOAR (Save Our Allegheny Ridges), a respected Pennsylvania nonprofit that provides scientific, legal, and educational support to communities facing industrial wind proposals.
• Our new chapter, Save the McKean County Wilds, connects us with statewide experts — from environmental scientists to land-use attorneys — who help ensure that development proposals are studied, transparent, and held to high environmental standards.

4️⃣ New “Text Governor Shapiro” tool

• We’ve launched a simple, user-friendly tool that helps residents share thoughtful, respectful messages about the Black Cherry Wind Project directly with Governor Shapiro.
