Under instructions from the VICTORIAN LABOR GOVERNMENT Parks Victoria have further decimated the surviving population of Bogong High Plains Brumbies.
A recent peer reviewed scientific impacts study by Dr David Berman revealed that the Bogong Brumbies have a negligible impact in the High Country, as described by Dr Berman, 99% nil impact in the "fragile" area. With only about 50 now living in the Bogong High Plains, the unnecessary destruction is nothing but vandalism.
The Bogong Brumbies hold significant value as bloodline descendants of our brave war horses.
The cruel and barbaric shooting of Bogong Brumbies, is an outrageous and irresponsible act of vandalism of our Australian Cultural History, International treaty or not.
Many rehomers would have taken the Brumbies, notwithstanding their shooting was completely unnecessary.
There comes a time when a country, a government, can make a decision., within the perametres of an international Treaty, with all Australians and especially a sentient creature that has served its country so well, and particularly when it comes down to destruction of its own cultural history and cultural values.
Will they now remove Captain Cooks Cottage?
The cruel, barbaric destruction of living sentient creatures for no reason other than to prove a point is beyond unacceptable and we will never forget such an outrageous decision and act.
Nor do I believe will many other hundreds of thousands of others
Nationals Senator Ross Cadell and the Liberals’ Holly Hughes have challenged the current Federal Senate Inquiry into Brumbies and the inquiry’s reliance on population count methodologies and data, which they say is implausible, unreliable and inadequate, or out of date, and potentially overplayed the current impact of the wild horses on the environment.
They also claim that during the two days of public inquiry, substantially less time and respect were afforded to pro-brumby advocates than other witnesses, with some unnecessarily questioned extensively on their credibility and qualifications.
If you arent happy about the ongoing slaughter of Brumbies contact your Member of Parliament.
Please sign this ePetition to be tabled in Victorian Parliament by Wendy Lovell demanding an end to shooting Brumbies.
