Stop The Bullets RALLY 5th May 2021,hundreds of Brumby Advocates led by a Brumby named Rocky and young rider Clara, and Sherb carriage pony driven by Yvonne, descended upon Parliament House steps in Melbourne, to raise the rafters and let the Minister for Environment, Lily D'Ambrosio know, they will not, under any circumstances accept her cruel and inhumane decision to shoot 500 Brumbies in the Eastern Alps, 30 in Bogong High Plains and 90 in Barmah National Park, Victoria, this year by ground or aerial shooting from moving helicopters.
Advocates chanted and sang on the steps of Parliament, and the Leader of the Opposition, Michael O'Brien took delivery of a petition with 177,000 signatures because Lily D'Ambrosio did not come to the Steps, calling upon the Andrews Government to stop their plans to shoot Brumbies and instead create Legislation for managed sustainable populations of Victorian wild living Brumbies.
Parliamentary Speakers included Michael O'Brien, Wendy Lovell MP, Bill Tilley MP, Peter Walsh MP, Bridget Vallence MP the Shadow Minister for the Environment and Bev McArthur MP, all of whom supported the STOP THE BULLETS Rally and called upon the Andrews Government to stop any plans to shoot Brumbies, science not slaughter, care not cull! in Michael O'Brien's own words.

Advocates are calling for the Minister to meet with the Yorta Yorta and negotiate to allow 250 Brumbies descendants of Brumbies living in the Barmah National Park for 180 years, to remain. The Andrews Government plan to shoot the Brumbies and stop use by gentle trail riding, in place for 36 years, and the annual Barmah Muster will be curtailed.
The Andrews Government must resolve the festering issues they have created.
We again call upon the Andrews Government to fix these problems, implement Legislation that will acknowledge the Heritage value of all Victorian Brumbies, with a Legislatively created management plan with input from a community advisory panel of brumby and other experts.
It is not necessary to slaughter, what is required is a management solution for Heritage Brumbies to remain living where they have been living for 200 years in all 3 key areas, Eastern Alps, Bogong and Barmah, to allow managed sustainable mobs of Brumbies to endure for future generations. Brumbies hold significant cultural and social value for our State of Victoria, indeed for all Australians!
If you live in Victoria, please sign these ePetitions to be tabled by Wendy Lovell MP in May and June calling for the same resolutions, STOP THE BULLETS and PLANS TO SHOOT Brumbies and enact Legislation for their protection and conservation.
