Parks Victoria and other agencies use concealed camera technology on public land for the purpose of gathering evidence and information about activities within national parks. The filmed material is rarely shared by Parks Victoria. We were fortunate to come across some tape from 2015 which speaks for itself.
FACT - The numbers of native animals caught on camera outnumbered introduced species in Barmah National Park.Native animals, like kangaroos and koalas are the most frequent visitors to camera locations as reported by Warwick Long ABC RURAL 2015
FACT - Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority said in ABC RURAL in 2015 that the ‘numbers of foxes, rabbits and cats were abundant in the park.’
Past Member for Rodney, Paul Weller said :
“the Brumbies should be allowed to stay and other feral animals be removed instead. There’s also goats, pigs and indeed deer that are feral animals that are in the Barmah Forest – at this stage this should be managed prior to looking at addressing the Brumbies.” 2015
Wendy Lovell MP Liberal Member for Northern Victoria supports Brumbies staying in the Barmah National Park and wants the broadscale shooting and removal plans to cease so that the heritage Brumby bloodlines can continue to survive in the Barmah National Park as they have done for over 150 years.
Parks Victoria must address the impact caused by other species before spilling BRUMBY BLOOD
We do not support cruel culling of any species, many species have cohabited successfully in the areas and the extremist elements within Government advisors must cease to cherry pick species for destruction.
Brumbies do not impact on Broad Shell Turtles, foxes and cats prey upon eggs of turtles.
Brumbies do not cause the extensive damage made by wild pigs and deer as wild pigs root in the moira grasses in Barmah and in Australian Alps wild pigs root in mosses and ground covers wreaking havoc. Deer wallow in streams, yet Brumbies are blamed for both damages. NO species should be cruelly culled, but we will not tolerate the cherry picking of brumbies.
WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE THAT BRUMBIES CAUSE ANY DAMAGE? WE DEMAND INDEPENDENT SCIENCE BEFORE ANY ACTION IS TAKEN TO REMOVE BRUMBIES.
BUREAUCRATS INDOCTRINATED BY EXTREMIST ELEMENTS ARE RUNNING THIS COUNTRY.
