The People of New York v. Andrea Nussinow 35 Counts Animal Cruelty: Court 3/6/23

Stop the Animal Neglect Columbia County, N.Y.
Mar 5, 2023

On Monday, March 6, 2023: The People of New York v. Andrea Nussinow has a court hearing scheduled to set a trial date.

Nussinow was arrested by the New York State Troopers on March 17, 2020 charged with 35 violations of New York Consolidated Laws, Agriculture and Markets Law - AGM § 353. Overdriving, torturing and injuring animals;  failure to provide proper sustenance.

On January 2, 2020 the New York State Troopers executed search warrants to investigate complaints of Animal Cruelty at Blue Star Farm located in Columbia County, New York. The New York State Troopers and licensed Veterinarians from the New York Agriculture & Markets Department: Animal Division investigated the complaints of Animal Cruelty involving dozens of Thoroughbred Broodmares and foals bred for horseracing, other equines, livestock and companion animals.

According to Veterinarian reports, several of the Thoroughbred mares, foals, and other animals appeared to be suffering from severe malnutrition, possible stunted growth, lameness, injuries and other medical problems. The stalls where many of the mares and foals were confined appeared "like they had several weeks of manure present".

The animals were subsequently seized by the New York State Police and taken to Godspeed Horse Hostel, a registered non profit animal rescue in Dutchess County. Many volunteers worked 24/7 with oversight by licensed New York Veterinarians to try and save the animals. Sadly, a severely emaciated steer and five (5) grossly emaciated cats were humanely euthanized to end their suffering, while the other animals struggled to survive and recover from malnutrition and painful medical issues.

The People of New York v. Andrea Nussinow, a large Animal Cruelty case in Columbia County, New York involving Thoroughbred racehorses and other animals has been delayed numerous times by the defendant and attorneys. The Court has scheduled a hearing to set a trial date on March 6, 2023 in the Town of Ghent, New York. For reasons unknown, the Court appears to provide preferential treatment for the defendant in The People of New York v. Andrea Nussinow and disallows the public in the court room for the hearings.  If you plan on attending the court hearing scheduled on March 6, 2023 contact the Town of Ghent directly.

If this case is not fully prosecuted by Paul Czajka, District Attorney of Columbia County it will give the appearance Columbia County suffers from the same disgraceful justice system Alex Murdaugh enjoyed in Colleton County, South Carolina for many years, including insurance fraud, selective prosecution, and serious integrity issues which led to the public's distrust in the judicial system.

If you want Paul Czajka, DA to enforce the NYS and Federal laws prohibiting animal cruelty in Columbia County, New York and prosecute the defendant Andrea Nussinow for 35 counts of injuring, torturing and failing to provide adequate sustenance to dozens of animals, including numerous Thoroughbred racehorses, contact the District Attorney's Office of Columbia County, N.Y.
