Our community of Texarkana is facing an imminent threat that could disrupt our daily lives and harm our local environment. The proposed AI Data Center infrastructure is set to encompass 400 acres, significantly impacting residents living within a 2-mile radius. While some argue that such a development could bring economic growth, the reality is far more concerning. The data center promises '120 jobs,' but are these roles a good tradeoff? This is not the permanent economic boom our community hopes for. Misunderstandings regarding extensive job creation need correction as the cons overwhelmingly outweigh the pros.

Firstly, the demands on our water and electrical resources will be immense. These data centers are notorious for their heavy consumption, which means higher utility costs for us all. Imagine your water and power bills skyrocketing, burdening families who are already managing tight budgets. Additionally, this infrastructure will reevaluate how our water resources are prioritized, potentially causing shortages affecting our very livelihood.

Noise pollution is another unavoidable consequence. The constant hum of servers and cooling systems of such magnitude might disrupt the peaceful environment our community cherishes. Noise pollution not only disturbs our tranquility but also poses potential health risks, ranging from stress to hearing problems. The well-being of Texarkana citizens is at stake.

Moreover, the substantial environmental impact cannot be overlooked. AI Data Centers are known for their significant carbon footprint, contributing to air pollution and global warming. This raises serious questions about environmental ethics and sustainability. Boldly ignoring these issues for the sake of technological advancement compromises the health of our planet and community.

Texarkana deserves development that respects its residents and natural resources, fostering real, sustainable job opportunities while ensuring environmental stewardship. The proposed AI Data Center fails to meet these criteria and poses more harm than benefits. Together, we can challenge this project and advocate for smarter growth strategies that genuinely serve our community.
