Stop the aggressive cutting of Sawmill Trail berm Fort Langley

The Issue

I live along the idyllic Sawmill Trail in Fort Langley, BC, Canada. This is my home, but more importantly, it is where the greenery serves as a much-needed shield against coal dust and train noise. However, the recent clearing of growth from the Sawmill Trail berm has left my home and countless others exposed. This petition aims to halt further destruction and promote the replantation of a tall green barrier.

As a resident, I'm sharing first-hand experience of how the clearing dramatically impacted our homes. The natural vegetation, aside from its aesthetic beauty, held a crucial function as a barrier against the constant noise and coal dust produced by the CN train. Now, we face an increased exposure to potentially harmful coal dust and elevated noise levels.

It is not just about us, the residents. The Sawmill Trail's natural habitat hosts a myriad of wildlife all of which are loosing their habitat.

We urge the local authorities to cease the planned further clearing on the sawmill trail berm and initiate immediate action to selectively remove dead plants only then replant a substantial green barrier. It is not only about saving our home and health but also about preserving the ecosystem and addressing environmental concerns. Please sign this petition to support our call to reduce the removal of greenery and replant a substantial of green barricade.
