I don't see this project moving forward. The mayor of Philadelphia will never approve. This project is probably one of the worst ideas anyone has ever had. Many years ago, the Phillies had attempted to build a stadium in Center City Philadelphia, but did their plan work? NO, IT DID NOT!!! It was a total failure! The mayor of Philadelphia at the time disapproved of the project and the stadium was never built. Likewise, Temple University wanted a full-sized football stadium on their campus in North Philadelphia, but was it ever built? No, it wasn't! Because Temple is perfectly content with the practice stadium that they have already on campus, plus they play their games at the Eco-Friendly, Solar-Powered Lincoln Financial Field in South Philadelphia. They have done so since 2003 and are perfectly content with it. So why should the 76ers leave the Wells Fargo Center? There is nothing wrong with the Wells Fargo Center and they can afford to renew the lease. If they are forced out of Philadelphia, so be it, but under NO circumstances will I allow the 76 Place at Market East project to move forward. I will do everything in my power to stop it from being built, and I need all the help that I can get.
