Good Evening Union County Residents. We are pleased to inform you that the Facilities Committee for the UCPS BOE met yesterday morning. On the agenda was the previous committee approval for the cell tower on Rea View Elementary School Campus.  Board Member Gary Sides recommended that the previous proposal approval from August be rescinded, and the committee voted in favor. There will be no cell tower built on Rea View's campus. This is AMAZING news!!

In addition, Mr. Sides recommended that cell towers not be built on ANY elementary school campus, as they are too small to comfortably protect the children and faculty. That being said, the committee did discuss the need to review and revisit towers on high school campuses, and the need to determine a safe distance from students and faculty.

We would like to thank the Union County Board of Education for considering our perspectives and hearing our concerns.    Our thanks to everyone who signed, shared and supported this petition.  This update certainly brings a relief about Vogue Towers Plans for Cell Towers on every UCPS Campus being thwarted.
