Follow up email - No response received to date - 17–21 Anembo St, Surfers Paradise (Chevron Island) – MCU/2026/63 and possible proposed development for existing DA on 18-20 Mawarra St, Chevron Island
Dear Assessment Manager, Councillors, and Hon. John‑Paul Langbroek MP,
I am writing to follow up on my formal objection email dated 19 February at 2:49pm (see below) regarding MCU/2026/63. To date, I have not received a written response from any of the parties addressed, despite the seriousness of the concerns raised.
The only correspondence I have received so far has been:
A referral from the State Member’s office directing the matter to Councillor Darren Taylor.
A brief response from Cr Taylor advising that I “can keep up to date via PD Online,” which did not address the substance of my concerns.
An email from the Assessment Manager stating that the application does not require public consultation, and suggesting I email a separate team if I wished to provide planning scheme feedback (completed prior email in question as below)
Given the significant community concern surrounding this application, and the fact that I subsequently submitted a formal objection (including detailed planning matters and implications for Anembo Street), it is extremely disappointing that no further response has been provided by any of the addressees.
I would also like to bring to your attention that I have now created a Change.org petition, which has already gained over 100 signatures (127 at the time of writing). This demonstrates there is public concern in relation to this proposal and the cumulative impacts on Chevron Island residents.

Given the above, I respectfully request the courtesy of a written response from each recipient — the Assessment Manager, Councillor Darren Taylor, Councillor Angie Bell, and Hon. John‑Paul Langbroek MP — addressing the matters raised in both my initial correspondence and this follow‑up.
I look forward to your timely replies.
Kind Regards
Leonia and Rob Moore
