As a private sector worker, I've seen first-hand how pensions have been closed down due to extortionate costs. Yet, the taxpayer is still required to fund the Civil Service's Pension Funds. With inflation, these funds require an extra £2.5 billion per annum from this year onwards - a cost that falls on us, the taxpayers. This is an expense that most of us can only dream of affording for our own retirement plans.

The disparity between private and public sector pensions is stark and unjustifiable. If private company pensions are deemed too expensive to run, it begs the question - why should the Civil Service continue to benefit from such a system? Especially when it comes at such a high cost.

It's time we address this imbalance and stop using taxpayer money to fund Civil Service Pension Rights. We call upon our government representatives to review this policy and implement changes that ensure fairness for all workers in both public and private sectors.
