Living in Le Roy, NY, has always been a source of pride for us. We've cultivated a close-knit community that values the peaceful and quiet nature of our town. However, the proposal to build a Taco Bell in our area threatens these treasured qualities. As members of this town, we feel it is paramount to voice our concerns and protect the integrity of our community.

One of the primary issues with bringing a Taco Bell to Le Roy is the anticipated increase in noise and light pollution. A fast-food restaurant of this caliber attracts significant traffic, resulting in longer operating hours and increased likelihood of disturbances. This inevitable rise in foot and vehicle traffic would disrupt the peace that we've worked so hard to preserve.

Furthermore, litter and waste management pose significant challenges. Similar establishments in surrounding areas have seen a marked increase in litter, not only on their premises but extending into local neighborhoods. Litter detracts from the natural beauty of our town and places an additional burden on waste management resources.

We're also deeply concerned about the impact on property values. Fast-food chains are commonly viewed as less desirable by prospective homebuyers, leading to depreciation in property values. Those who have invested in their homes and neighborhoods would bear the brunt of this development.

Additionally, the planned site for this Taco Bell is east of several homes that are already battling water and drainage issues to the west, compounded by previous developments. Constructing this franchise could exacerbate these problems, further stressing our town's infrastructure and causing potential damage to residential properties.

We envision a Le Roy that remains true to its roots—a town that prioritizes quality living and community values. Instead of a fast-food chain, we should consider developments that benefit the local economy and align with our community's ethos, such as local businesses or communal spaces that enhance our town's attractiveness.
