A shameful U-turn by greyhound racing supporter, Connolly’s Red Mills, was highlighted in Saturday’s Irish Examiner.

The newspaper reported: “In early July, Connolly’s Red Mills became the latest company to cease its sponsorship of greyhound racing. The animal feed producer said it was ‘horrified by the completely unacceptable acts that were broadcast’ and added that ‘no-one who cares about animals can condone the practices depicted in the broadcast’. However, the company has since done a U-turn and has recommitted to supporting greyhound racing.”

The company’s U-turn came despite it claiming that "the welfare of greyhounds is of the utmost concern to Connolly's Red Mills”. The shocking “RTE Investigates: Greyhounds Running for Their Lives” documentary which prompted its initial announcement revealed the horrors of greyhound racing, including the killing of 6,000 greyhounds every year because they are not fast enough to win races.

ACTION ALERT

Tell Connolly’s Red Mills that if "the welfare of greyhounds is of the utmost concern” to the company, it will immediately end all support for this nasty industry in which dogs are injured, shot in the head, mutilated, doped, dumped and exported to hellholes in Pakistan and China.
