Shame on Dublin Coach company, Airbus (at Dublin Airport), for continuing to promote greyhound racing despite recent revelations about cruelty and killing. On receipts issued to customers, the company states: "Ticket entitles bearer to Free Night at the Dogs".
Boycott Airbus (Email: info@dublincoach.ie) until it stops supporting the nasty, dog-killing greyhound industry.
As reported by ICABS last week, Airbus sister company, QuickPark car park at Dublin Airport is also continuing to shamefully promote greyhound racing.
A recent promotional email sent out to customers states: “All bookings made on Quickpark.ie receive free admission for one adult for a night at the dogs worth up to €10 with our exclusive offer in association with the Irish Greyhound Board”.
The email was sent out after the shocking RTE Investigates programme exposed the horrors of the greyhound industry, including the killing of 6,000 dogs every year because they are not fast enough to win races.
QuickPark.ie has been condemned in the past for its sponsorship of greyhound racing and hare coursing.
QuickPark’s associated companies Dublin Coach, Darby O’Gill Tours and Cityscape Dublin Tours also promote greyhound racing.
Dublin Coach - the "proud travel partner to the Irish Greyhound Board" - is offering customers free entry to greyhound tracks where dogs suffer and die.
Announcing a 5-year partnership with the Irish Greyhound Board back in 2014, Dublin Coach Managing Director John O’Sullivan stated: “We’re very, very proud to be associated with the IGB. Greyhounds are in the blood. We grew up with them. We’ve always had them. We still have them and breed them.” https://youtu.be/wCp3YUmRm6g?t=28
In a statement, the company added: “Through this association we are providing the infrastructure to connect the greater Irish community and the tourist with an authentic Irish experience and one of the nation`s most loved sports – Greyhound Racing"
Dublin Coach also runs buses to the Clonmel hare coursing cruelty festival every year where dogs are unleashed to terrorise defenceless hares http://www.banbloodsports.com/ln150121.htm
Last month, a Darby O’Gill tourist bus was filmed driving past a “Ban Greyhound Racing” protest and into Shelbourne Park stadium.
Animal lovers are not only boycotting Darby O'Gill, Dublin Coach, QuickPark but also Cityscape Dublin tours, after ads for greyhound racing were displayed on the backs of its buses.
