I am beyond excited to announce that my home state of Virginia has just made history by passing HB2096, the #StopSuperSpeeders bill—the first of its kind in the nation at the state level! 🎉

This transformative bi-partisan legislation allows judges to require drivers convicted of extreme speeding offenses to install Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) technology in their vehicles, automatically limiting their speed to the posted limit. This is a game-changer in the fight against reckless driving and a critical step toward saving lives on our roads.

This victory is deeply personal to me and all of our members in Families for Safe Streets. Today, we’re celebrating the first state to get it over the finish line. 

Virginia is now leading the way, but our work isn’t done! Half a dozen other states are considering similar #StopSuperSpeeders bills, and we’re committed to making sure this movement spreads across the country. Together, we can make roads safer and prevent more needless tragedies. This victory in Virginia is just the beginning!
