My son Ryan should still be here.

He was taken from us because of a speeding driver—someone who chose recklessness over responsibility. That choice didn’t just end Ryan’s life. It shattered our family forever.

In the wake of unimaginable loss, we fought for change. And we achieved it. “Ryan’s Law” was passed in California to address dangerous speeding, street racing and takeovers. But the truth is, it’s not enough.

Because the reality is this:
California is still allowing the most dangerous drivers back on the road without meaningful safeguards.

That’s why I am asking for your support for AB 2276 (Soria), the Stop Super Speeders Act.

This bill is not about punishing everyday drivers. It is a targeted, preventative solution focused on the highest-risk individuals—those convicted of the most serious speeding-related offenses.

AB 2276 would require these drivers to install Active Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) devices before they can return to the road. These devices physically prevent excessive speeding, reducing repeat dangerous behavior and saving lives.

We already know that enforcement alone is not enough. Tickets don’t stop tragedy. Warnings don’t bring people back.

But prevention can.

This is about stopping the next loss before it happens.
This is about ensuring no other parent has to live through what I live with every day.

California has the opportunity to lead the nation with a smart, data-driven approach to traffic safety. We have the technology. We know the risk. Now we must act.
