We urge Hamilton County Schools to immediately halt the cuts to Exceptional Education staffing and keep current staff in their existing schools.

Students with disabilities deserve stability, safety, and consistent support—not fewer staff and disrupted services. The proposed changes reduce the number of special education professionals across the county and move essential staff out of the schools where they are already making a difference.

This is not what our children need. It’s not what our teachers deserve. And it’s not aligned with the district’s stated goals of inclusion, equity, and providing a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) for every student.

We call on Hamilton County Schools to:

• Stop cutting Exceptional Education positions

• Keep staff in their current school communities

• Ensure all students with disabilities receive the care, support, and safety they deserve
