Stop Social Media Platforms from Amplifying Haitian Gang Violence

Stop Social Media Platforms from Amplifying Haitian Gang Violence
Le problème
version française Every day, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook host videos created by or glorifying Haitian gang members. In these clips, criminals boast about the people they’ve killed, the money they’ve stolen, and the towns they’ve taken over.
These videos clearly violate the platforms’ own Community Guidelines. And yet the content remains online, helping gangs spread fear, manipulate public opinion, and maintain their grip over much of Haiti.
Would these videos be allowed to remain if they were in English? Is this a case of negligence, discrimination, or simply not caring?
We demand YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook :
· Immediately remove all content produced by or glorifying Haitian gangs.
· Enforce their Community Guidelines equally across all languages, including Haitian Creole.
· Stop giving violent gangs a platform to intimidate, recruit, and terrorize.
Social media should not be a weapon used against the Haitian people. Tell these tech giants to stop enabling violence. Get gang propaganda off Haiti’s smartphones—now.
