HELLO NEIGHBORS, FRIENDS, AND SUPPORTERS!!!

Today marked a significant turning point for the SSR4GC. I spent the day meeting with the Trust for Public Land and consulting with three law firms in Reno. I also filed an official public records request that will show the effect of the cause—this was the second one this week, with six or so more to go.

TPL was incredibly knowledgeable, and once we stop this SRD, they are prepared to step in. The meeting felt much like a mentoring session—it was informative, and they will be kept in the loop as we work together to stop this nonsense once and for all. They are also assisting in making the right connections to help us succeed, and they felt we have a very strong legal case.

I also want to share that I now have the outline of the comprehensive report, along with numerous supplemental documents, data sets, and exhibits, and I’m actively working through all of it. We are also awaiting a crucial supplement from the tribe, which will include images, oral histories, and testimonies from Chairman Sorrell Smokey and Chairman BillyHawk Enos of the Tribal Historic Preservation Office. We’re also receiving invaluable assistance with those images from Letty Enos.

I also want to acknowledge something truly special: our Change.org petition has now gathered well over 700 signatures in just three weeks! I am so grateful to each and every one of you who has signed, donated generously to change.org to promote the petition, shared, and reposted. Your support means the world to me, and I am thrilled that you’ve accepted me as a leader. I can’t wait to meet every single one of you. Together, we are aligned with the highest purpose: to save this land and return it to the Native Americans for 100% conservation/stewardship. We are deeply grateful to the tribe for being so welcoming and appreciative of our efforts.

As the Bible reminds us, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26). Serving others brings us closest to the Lord, and it is this spirit of service that guides our mission.

My philosophy is that a good leader is someone who gets their hands dirty alongside the people who support them- great leaders provide support to those they guide. I hope you see that I’m doing just that, and I look forward to all of us getting our hands dirty together in this important work.

We also want to highlight that legal protection in the class action is exclusively available to those who become members of the coalition. By joining, you ensure that you’re fully protected and can actively participate in our collective efforts. We encourage everyone to become a member to gain these essential benefits.

Before we dive into this timeless melody, I want to share a bit of my personal journey and why this song resonates so deeply with me. Growing up in Washoe Valley, I sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" countless times in my living room, before ever performing it in public. I’d practice, staring out the picture window at the valley’s mountains, and on some days, I’d even climb up on the roof and belt it out as loud as I could. It was a song I used for many auditions, and through it all, I felt a deep connection to Dorothy’s journey. This song has always been a beacon of hope and inspiration for me.

As I practiced, I often found myself connecting deeply with Dorothy’s journey—her courage, her tenacity, and her ability to overcome the forces of evil, from the Wicked Witch to the flying monkeys. I admired her strength so much, and it inspired me to become resilient and determined in my own life. This song, and Dorothy’s story, have always been a source of inspiration for me, and I’m proud to say that I embody that same spirit of courage and hope. I hope it inspires you too!

Finally, I want to float a fun idea: would anyone be interested in doing a Polar Bear Plunge at Little Washoe Lake to help raise awareness? If that’s something you’d like to be part of, please reach out to me through the website. I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. We cannot do this alone. United, we stand; divided, we fall - so we might as well STAND TALL!

Sweet dreams and good night.

xoxo,

Jette

P.S. There’s been a small glitch with my Nextdoor account. They’ve been made aware of the flying monkeys in the Valley and are taking it seriously. Stay tuned—my profile should be up and running again shortly, until then, hang tight. We have other more effective ways of reaching the public in the meantime.
