We have submitted a request to Albany City Code enforcement for proof of pulled permits for work that has continued to be performed outside any previous permit the property owner has obtained.
Today a few gentlemen showed up and went into the property basement with PVC piping, a concrete saw, and a jackhammer.
To provide a backstory, this property has always had a long standing issue with water drainage issues which has lead to mold issues. It's an obvious issue being that the driveway was poured up to the foundation so any water is just being funneled to the basement.
The new property owner thought the "fix" would be tieing a sump pump into the sanitary pipe, which is illegal, and code enforcement was made aware, but have yet to address this matter. Not to mention the electrical outlet inches from a water source (see picture provided to us by anonymous source).
So now the assumption is they are cutting into the foundations' footing to install PVC pipe to route the water for drainage, which, as you can imagine is high-risk work that should be handled by professionals to ensure the structural integrity of the home.
I guess we'll see what Albany BRC has to say for this one.
