Stop Sentinel Peak Resources from Trucking Crude Oil from Lompoc Hills to Coalinga

The Issue

Urge Santa Barbara County to once again deny crude oil trucking.

Santa Barbara County residents have seen impacts of crude oil trucking accidents. Crude oil tankers have caused spills into the Cuyama River and a fire in Santa Maria Valley on Dominion Road. Even accidents not caused by oil tanker truck drivers have the potential to create disastrous impacts to our environment and to our County residents and others. Our community is concerned about impacts of future oil tanker accidents.

It is with this backdrop that Sentinel Peak Resources now proposes to build a truck rack to restart oil production in the hills above Lompoc. Its plan threatens an increase in tanker trucking across the 165-mile stretch to Coalinga. The risk to our communities, our schools, our neighborhoods and many more along the route is too great. We urge Santa Barbara County to deny Sentinel Peak Resource's proposal. We all need to stand up for our safety, our environment, and our community.

Sign this petition to protect our environment, our neighborhoods, and our residents from this dangerous proposal to truck crude oil for 165 miles through our communities.
