Stop Seneca Clear Backpacks

Stop Seneca Clear Backpacks

The Issue

At Seneca, we are supposed to be going to clear backpacks on January 4th. Their goal is to stop the number of guns and nicotine from getting into our school, or as Mr.Guy says our second home. But, that won't stop them from being brought in, honestly, I doubt it'll lower the chances. If anything it will raise them, but also decrease student motivation. Everyone at Seneca born a female, will have to find a new way to hide feminine products, as well as other personal belongings. But also, with pepper spray, with clear backpacks you'll be able to see the pepper spray and that would lead to suspension since it's considered a weapon, but what if taking the thing that keeps many of us comfortable in our neighborhoods, long walks home, and at the bus stops... gets us killed, kidnapped, or harmed. Things will still be hideable. People, who normally do work would stop taking anything to school. It's also not worth the money. Plastic clear backpacks break easily, most people freshman year buy backpacks that'll last throughout high school to save money. What's going to happen with those who cannot afford or get assistance to get a backpack? How would you feel, if your privacy was being taken away? That's how we feel right now.
