The Issue

Millions of people visit SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay every year. But right now, some visitors with disabilities are being told they’re not welcome—simply because they use rollator walkers.

SeaWorld’s current policy bans rollator walkers with seats, even though these are essential mobility aids for many people. This ban has led to real harm. Disabled guests have reported being turned away, denied access, or told to rent alternative equipment that doesn't meet their needs. For many, rollators aren't a convenience—they're a necessity. And at rental prices as high as $110, the "alternative options" are not just inappropriate, they're unaffordable.

The U.S. Department of Justice has now launched a civil rights investigation into whether SeaWorld and its affiliated parks are violating the Americans with Disabilities Act. That alone should be a wake-up call.

SeaWorld claims this ban is about safety or path design—but that doesn’t justify a policy that denies equal access to people with disabilities. No one should have to choose between physical safety and being allowed to participate in public life.

This petition calls on Marc Swanson, CEO of United Parks & Resorts Inc, to immediately reverse this discriminatory policy and allow rollator walkers at all parks. Theme parks should be places of joy, not exclusion.

Let’s show SeaWorld that people across the country are watching—and that we expect them to do the right thing. Join us in demanding accessibility, inclusion, and dignity for all guests.
