The Issue

Mass shootings have become a major issue in America. In 2020, there was 610 mass shootings, in 2021 there was 690, in 2022 there was 647. We are not even 4 full months into 2023 and there has been about 159 mass shootings! There has been no change done to create a safer environment for our children and people. Many of the shootings don’t even make headlines anymore because it’s such a common occurrence. The government isn’t doing enough to change this horrific reoccurrence. Each family who loses a child or adult from a mass shooter has to go through significant trauma and are being left with pain that is unimaginable. School’s are not doing enough to protect these innocent children who go to school to learn. Many kids don’t get to walk out of school at the end of the day because their lives were taken. In 2023, over 11,000 people have lost their lives, another 9,000 have been injured from a mass shooting. This petition is very important. Everyone and anyone needs to sign this to stop one of your loved ones or yourself from losing their lives. Mental health is not a priority in the United States. We are allowing sick people to access guns and with allowing that others lose their lives. Schools should be funded to have bulletproof windows and doors, mental detectors, and guards. We want to see children learn and grow, we as a society should feel safe dropping our children off at school. We should feel safe going to a public place to shop or eat. Immediate action needs to take place in order to save innocent lives. This should be a huge priority for the government but it’s not. Schools need more funding to make the needed changes to make the schools safer. 77% of mass shooters purchased their guns legally. How are sick people obtaining these weapons so easily? We need to be the change. To get a response from congress we need 100,000 signatures!
