Sadiq Khan has not done enough to deserve the title of a Lord. In my view, he has not effectively addressed the crime issues in London, and his leadership has left much to be desired.

Every Londoner deserves to feel safe, yet the rising crime statistics tell a different story. Knife crime has surged, with a significant increase in stabbings and violent incidents in various boroughs. According to the Office for National Statistics, London saw a worrying rise in knife crime incidents, up by 5% in the past year alone. It's clear that under his tenure, crime management has taken a backseat, leaving communities in fear and despair.

Additionally, his handling of key issues such as housing and transport has not been exemplary. The housing crisis remains unresolved, with thousands of Londoners grappling with unaffordable rents and homelessness. Transport services are often plagued by disruptions, affecting the daily lives of millions of commuters.

Awarding him such a prestigious title would be an endorsement of his ineffective policies and inadequate leadership. This honour should be reserved for those who have truly made a positive impact on society, not for those who have fallen short of their responsibilities.

We must ensure that the recognition of becoming a lord is awarded based on merit and substantial contributions to society.
