The Issue

Rodden Road, a residential road in Frome, connecting Berkeley Road and New Road has become overwhelmingly busy with fast, heavy traffic - peaking in recent years. It is often incredibly congested with parked cars and vans, causing traffic jams and increased pollution during peak periods of the day, affecting the lives and the safety of its residents and locals.

Not only is it a very busy and as such polluted road, it is also a FAST road, with many many drivers ignoring the 30MPH speed limit, putting lives at risk.

The consequence of this is fatal danger both to pedestrians and drivers and was illustrated in the horrific collision which took place outside 118 Rodden Road on 19th October 2023, when a speeding car collided with a skip truck. It is unknown at this point if this was fatal, but the driver has to be cut from the wreckage and air lifted to Bristol Hospital.

If immediate steps are not taken to remedy the ongoing speeding on Rodden Road, more accidents will take place and the lives of Frome residents will continue to be negatively and even fatally affected.

While this awful accident is fresh in our minds, NOW is the time to act and sign the petition to find a solution to the speeding on Rodden Road.
