Good Morning Fellow Residents, Commuters and Petition Supporters
Following on from my last update regarding questions raised about Fifteenth Ave to both the Member for Leppington Nathan Hagarty MP and the Mayor of Liverpool Ned Mannoun I have received one reply.
This is the reply that I received from Nathan Hagarty MP for Leppington regarding the Fifteenth Ave upgrade....
"As you know I have long advocated for the upgrade of Fifteenth Avenue - as a Councillor, candidate and now Member of Parliament.
Fifteenth Avenue is a priority road for both the government and myself to relieve congestion for locals and to link our region into Western Sydney Airport and Bradfield.
In the short time since I have been elected, I have had numerous meetings and corresponded with the Minster, his team, the Department and Liverpool Council. The purpose of which was to establish what work has been done to date, future timeframes and to reiterate the importance of this project to my (our) community.
Unfortunately, progress on Fifteenth under the previous Liberal-National government had been poor, and there is a lot of hard work ahead to fix the last 12 years’ worth of neglect in South-West Sydney.
While the upgrade and extension of Fifteenth is a major project that will take years, I am currently working with the Department and the Minister's Office to identify priority areas for staged upgrade and improvements.
I will continue to keep you updated on progress.
Kind Regards
Nathan Hagarty MP for Leppington
NO INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE REGARDING THE BANKS RD TO COWPASTURE RD UPDATE at this time.
NO REPLY FROM THE MAYOR OF LIVERPOOL COUNCIL NED MANNOUN
I have received no reply from the Mayor of Liverpool Ned Mannoun on this matter (or many other issues that I have emailed him about) the Mayor makes comments in public about issues like the cost of the roads however then ignores requests to provide information to back up his claims (not the first time and not the only issue).
I will also provide further information about any progress on the upgrade of Fifteenth Ave as it comes to hand. I doubt that any future information will be provided to me from Liverpool Council as they appear to have shut down communication with me since the CEO advised me that he instructed staff NOT to answer my emails on the 12th April 2023 and now refuses to answer any emails from me himself UNLESS they are addressed to him only and don't have the Mayor or Councillors copied in on the email.
Personally, I find this strange as concerns from the community on public issues, in my opinion, should be something that the duly elected councillors are aware of.
I look forward to seeing some work being done on Fifteenth Ave upgrade in the near future.
