We’re approaching a critical moment in Vancouver’s housing and planning decisions — and we need your help to be heard.
Recent CMHC data shows a net outflow of residents from Vancouver, raising serious concerns about whether current development policies are aligned with actual housing demand. At the same time, the City is increasingly overextending its role in purpose-built rental development, stepping into territory traditionally led by the private sector — despite clear signals that demand is softening.
What’s missing from the conversation?
• No new initiatives to fund or upgrade aging infrastructure
• No proportional investment in schools, roads, sewers, transit, or healthcare capacity
• No reassessment of rezoning policies despite changing population trends
Instead, blanket rezoning continues — without adequate planning for long-term livability or sustainability.
This is not about opposing housing.
This is about responsible planning, data-driven decision-making, and ensuring Vancouver remains a city people can actually live in — not just build in.
We are calling on City leaders to pause, reassess, and realign rezoning policies with real demand, infrastructure capacity, and community well-being.
