Stop Queenstown Bendigo Bank Closure

Stop Queenstown Bendigo Bank Closure
The issue
Queenstown Bendigo Bank planned permanent closure is 26th of September 2025. If you are opposed to Bendigo Bank closing the last West Coast bank and if you believe full banking services are essential services for our community and visitors as well as being vital for the daily operation of businesses, community groups, sports clubs and local charities then please sign this petition today and help the West Coast to save our bank.
Many years ago the government said we all had to have bank accounts now it seems the banks run the government as if the federal government had of implemented the findings of the Senate inquiry into rural banking closures 14 months ago the West Coast of Tasmania would not be facing this economic coffin nail which is Queenstown Bendigo Banks planed closure.
Bendigo Bank self advertise as being Australia's most trusted bank and there for rural areas by closing the Queenstown Bendigo Bank they are failing to live up to their claims. They are failing to provide financial services to their customers and creating increased financial burden on small businesses and personal customers who are already struggling in this cost of living crisis adding to the financial hardship and social wellbeing of many residents.
This decision had been made by people in HQ who have never travelled to the West Coast and who do not understand that we are not a rural are we are a remote, isolated area of Tasmania who's at times treacherous weather conditions make travelling to Burnie (some 2.5 hours of winding pot hole filled road away) the next closest Bendigo Bank impossible.
Bendigo Bank tells us we have options but the truth is Bendigo Bank is removing our communities options and right to have face to face in branch customer service, the likes of which a lot of our residents and visitors to our beautiful area rely on to remain financially independent something that many of you take for granted.
Queenstown was the birth place of the commonwealth bank back in 1912 don't let it become the burial place of rural banking.
This issue effects everyone you don't have to be a Bendigo customer or a West Coast resident you just have care and please stand with us sign the petition share it today.
