Strathfield Council is currently considering whether local not-for-profit community childcare centres (Strathfield One Stop Child Care Service (SOCCS)) and HOOSH) will be privatised. 

These centres have been run for decades by local management and staff consisting of current and former parents and locals. As they are not-for-profit, costs for parents are affordable.

The centres are located on community owned land which will be potentially lost to a private for-profit company for decades. 

Make no mistake, if these community run childcare centres have to compete against large commercial for-profit centres they will lose!
