According to Wikipedia, an earmark is a congressional provision that directs approved funds to be spent on specific projects or that directs specific exemptions from taxes or mandated fees. Congressional earmarks are often defined loosely as anonymously authored guarantees of federal funds to particular recipients.

Basically put, pork barrel spending is a way to buy support for campaigns.

Today, President Obama is expected to sign a $410 billion bill to fund the government through the rest of the year chocked full of "earmarks". This is a direct violation of his campaign promise, and the time has come to change the way we spend in Washington.

Let President Obama and your Congresspersons know that you are sick and tired of pork barrel spending and that reform is not only desired... it's necessary... and it is DEMANDED by the American people.
