We've all been there.  Every two years, the United States holds elections on a national scale.  Every four years, the general election results in increased attention, spending, and exhaustion.  And every election cycle, more money gets spent to send you more communications to get your vote.

It is time to stop the deluge.

If you feel overwhelmed by the ridiculous amount of political communications coming at you from all angles, then we respectfully and humbly ask you to sign this petition to Stop Political Spam.

The Federal Trade Commission has options to limit telemarketers and to request for certain forms of communication to stop.  You can even opt out of credit card and insurance offers from firms.  However, if you want to opt out of political advertisements and campaign communications, you are unable to do so.

It is much too overwhelming for Americans to be swamped by hundreds of campaign communication pieces clamoring for their votes.  It is enough to have political advertisements on television and on our social media, but to be incapable of escaping the deluge even after you have voted?  This is absolutely absurd.

We are calling for the following specific action items:

1. The Establishment of a National Do Not Canvass Registry which will function similarly to the National Do Not Call Registry.
2. The Prohibition of Further Unsolicited Communication of all Political Action Committees, Candidates, etc. being sent to individuals who have already cast their votes.
3. The Limitation of the Amount of Political Items sent by such entities as described in Action Item 2 to a per-person, per-month, per-item amount.
