Stop Police Dishonesty, Brutality, Corruption, And Misconduct
The Issue
Upon my own unfortunate incident of Police misconduct, I formed a support group for fellow victims. Since this was in operation, I have been contacted by numerous people, sharing of their devastating scenarios, which has left me saddened, shocked, and disgusted. It is clearly time for change.
The group's existence was for anyone anywhere who had been a victim of Police misconduct, where people were free to come and share of their unfortunate experiences, or simply come and gain strength in hearing the experiences of others, knowing that they were not alone.
This group was for innocent people to discuss their distressing encounters - those who had been wrongfully accused or wrongfully arrested by the Police for something they didn't do, where the Police have taken no responsibility for their error or dishonesty.
As mentioned, I created the group as a result of my own most surreal scenario, where I was falsely accused by zero evidence of things which couldn't possibly be true, where evidence exists flying in the face of those accusations...yet whenever I attempted to gently put rationality their way, asking for a communicative response of reason and logic, as to how these things could in fact be true, they simply ran away, avoiding all responsibility, placing lies upon the report, rather than humbly apologise. In carrying out such appalling and unprofessional behaviour, they cannot expect to demand the respect of the general public, nor can they expect our honesty in return. This is an issue of huge concern.
I have been informed by Hampshire Constabulary that extreme coercive control, manipulative threat making resulting in punishment, screaming in someone's face, etc., does not qualify as domestic abuse, but is rather 'limited examples.' After the member of Police Staff asked for my side of things, her only comment: "But you weren't together for very long though, were you!" So under a year's worth of abuse is acceptable, where it's quantity over quality they determine and measure it by.
I was also informed that the website I run, sharing of my unfortunate personal experiences, for the purpose of raising awareness of domestic abuse and helping fellow survivors...was the product of 'a fixated mind.' For them to read the contents, which consists of sexual assault, among other disturbing behaviours, and not regard any of it as abuse, but rather the receiver of the abuse is 'fixated,' is vile beyond words. By this standpoint: Refuge, Victim Support, Rape Crisis, Samaritans, etc., shouldn't exist - their founders are purely fixated! (Thank God if they are!) And, no autobiography of any survivor should have ever been written.
This is a terribly dangerous attitude to come from the Police, especially when their Stations are plastered with posters telling domestic abuse victims to turn to them...only to be slapped and informed that it is not abuse.
I have been warned to not speak up about what my abusive former partner used to do to me, as it would be distressing for that abuser if they were to identify themselves by their own inflicted abuse. We are not even referring to the abuser in question being named...but them identifying themselves by their own inflicted abuse!!! Yet the Police have claimed that such behaviours did not qualify as abuse! A complete contradiction. I was also verbally battered for reporting unquestionable abuse which was inflicted on the person's young child to child protection services - something law enforcement usually encourages one to do, and something which is the responsibility of every adult. I was informed that this course of action was 'harassing' the abuser! So by the two members of Police Staff in question, child and adult abuse is deemed acceptable. Speaking about it and reporting it is the wrongdoing.
As previously stated, I was falsely accused of mentioning my former partner on my website, which would have been impossible, given that I had met her at least two years after my website detail was completed, and falsely accused of mentioning her on a non existent radio broadcast. Evidence is essential - it is most unprofessional and terribly dangerous for the Police to make ludicrous accusations on the grounds of: 'because someone said so.' It is an illegal offense to provide false information to the Police, yet they turn a blind eye to that of my abuser, while falsely accusing me of her lies...and if she tells them further lies, I will be arrested!
Rather than humbly apologise for their errors, the Sergeant lied on Police report, covering for the member of Police Staff who had phoned me, which was a ridiculous thing to do, given that I have the recording of that phone call as evidence...evidence they run away from like cowardly bullies. They do not help themselves by such silly behaviour.
I host a radio broadcast, where I have interviewed a retired Chief Inspector with the Met - Roy Williams, who is now an activist speaking out about his own case of corruption within the Force. In his words: "If my own colleagues could turn against me, consider what they are capable of doing to the general public." This is disturbingly happening on a large scale.
While we are naturally in need of a Police force, it is essential that it does not consist of such dangerous corruption.
My fury over Hampshire Constabulary has overridden my fear of them. To quote the words of the late great Rosa Parks: 'You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right.' Rosa Parks did not simply get tired and give up her seat. She had reached the end of her tether and fought back. Likewise, too many now are tired, and need to fight back in defending themselves from such despicable bullying.
We cannot have a Policing system where the innocent are falsely accused or arrested, and rather than admitting to error by humble apology, further lies are told by the Superiors, to cover for the misconduct of their colleagues.
We cannot have a Policing system where a person can be arrested due to a natural response of verbal anger initiated by the Police, where no responsibility is taken for their first cause of wrongdoing. It is childlike, thuggish, and most unprofessional.
Fortunately, I have won both cases with the IOPC against the two offending members of Police Staff, where they have both been instructed to not behave inappropriately to a survivor of domestic abuse.
Please sign this petition to make the change that the general public rightfully deserve.
Thank you.
