STOP planning for major alterations to Bulls Lane - Ox Leys Road - A38

STOP planning for major alterations to Bulls Lane - Ox Leys Road - A38
The Issue
Birmingham City Council Planning department have submitted application number 2023/04735/PA for major changes to the Bulls Lane - Ox Leys Road junction to accommodate traffic onto the Langley SUE (10,000 homes) urban development.
This already very dangerous junction will accommodate new slip roads to access Langley SUE from the A38 Northbound and allow egress from the development Southbound.
There is also no provision for access onto the A38 Northbound towards Bassett's Pole.
Over the past 18 months there has been 14 different road traffic incidents at the junction, with four extremely serious, and one resulting in a tragic death.
The consequences of such a completely absurd junction directly effects all residents of Wishaw and in particular those living along Ox - Leys Road, Grove Lane, Bulls Lane, Holly Lane, Wiggins Hill Road and Curdworth Lane.
Our once peaceful village is already overwhelmed with daily (rat run) traffic however the implications of this junction will quadruple the amount of traffic on our lanes and if this goes ahead Ox - Leys road along with Grove Lane will be used as a main thoroughfare from the Langley SUE development to gain access onto the A446 Belfry junction.
Ox - Leys Road - Grove Lane cannot take such volumes of traffic and as we already know homes have been effected already with dangerous driving resulting in cars smashing through into peoples lounges and gardens at the corner of Grove Lane.
Couple this with busy Farm traffic trying to leave fields and farms? its a recipe for disaster and the increase in traffic will be a major pollutant!.
Birmingham Council have adopted the ULEZ and LEZ (Ultra low emission zone and Low emission zones) into urbanised areas throughout Birmingham but what about our villages right to clean air? The Langley Development will push commuters into the countryside, congest our lanes and decrease our clean air.
This is an ill thought out planning application when a more viable junction could be sited at the Lindridge Road - A38 bridge without any hinderance to our village.
The siting of a junction there would give better access onto the A446 passing via Holly Lane and surrounding road networks.
We need to act now and voice our concerns !
If you would be so kind as to sign this petition so it can be submitted to Birmingham City Council Planning department.
Closing date for comments and petitions is 17th August 2023
Im in direct consultation with a number of Councillors regarding this matter and i am trying to get this date extended to allow further consultation and time for residents to absorb, digest and truly understand the impact of this junction and to allow time for more of you to sign.
Many thanks
Update: 10th Aug 23 today I have been in verbal communications with local and district councillors Ken Wood, David Barrie and the RH Andrew Mitchell MP who are all strongly opposed not only to the Langley SUE development but also the siting of said road junction at Ox-Leys Road - Bulls Lane. It has been made explicitly clear by all of the above that the junction application is not what was proposed by BCC in their presentations and focus should be on the serious detrimental effect the increased traffic will have on our village and lanes.
