The Issue

We, the undersigned, strongly oppose the proposed changes outlined in the letter dated 24th April 2025 from the Department of Place, Highways Design and Construction. These changes include:

🔹 The conversion of existing parking bays on Great Horton Road and Morley Street to short-stay paid parking at £2 per hour,
🔹 Enforced parking from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday (including Bank Holidays),
🔹 A two-hour maximum stay,
🔹 The removal of a key loading bay outside MyLahore Restaurant, impacting delivery logistics and half-disabled parking availability.

⚠️ These changes will have serious negative impacts:

Small and local businesses will lose customers who cannot afford or are discouraged by paid parking.
Restaurants like MyLahore depend on accessible parking for dine-in and takeaway customers.
Elderly and disabled visitors will face increased hardship.
Staff and delivery drivers will be unfairly affected by the removal of loading bays and free short-term parking.
🚫 We urge Bradford Council to halt the implementation of these changes and conduct a proper impact assessment in consultation with local stakeholders.
