Stop Overloading, Zero Tolerance for Littering : Reform Indian Railways
The Issue
On what should have been a delightful journey aboard India's prestigious Vande Bharat train, my experience was marred by an evident lack of civic sense displayed by some fellow passengers. These individuals carried excessive luggage, including multiple trolleys per person, and obstructed essential travel information by placing large boxes in front of the display screens. When a concern was raised, it was brushed aside, revealing a disregard for the comfort and convenience of others.
Moreover, the consumption of snacks like puffed rice added to the chaos, leaving little space for passengers to manage their belongings. I paid Rs 1000 for a mere three-hour journey, expecting to revel in the pride of traveling on a world-class train, yet, found myself navigating through inconvenience created by a handful of passengers.
The Vande Bharat train represents a significant improvement in the Indian Railways, showcasing modernity and efficiency that we as a nation are proud to present to the world. However, such experiences not only mar the journey of domestic travelers but also tarnish the image of our country on an international level, especially among foreign tourists who may witness these incidents.
To rectify this, I urge the Indian Railways to implement stricter regulations concerning passenger behavior, such as enforcing luggage limits and ensuring clear access to information displays. Conductors and railway staff should be empowered and encouraged to address any inappropriate behavior promptly.
Additionally, public awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of civic sense while traveling can cultivate a harmonious and respectful environment aboard our trains.
Together, we can ensure that the Vande Bharat train continues to uphold its world-class reputation and provide an extraordinary travel experience for all. Please sign this petition to call for immediate action in promoting better passenger etiquette on Vande Bharat trains.
