🛑STOP Overdevelopment - SAVE Taman Intan Baiduri–Infrastructure First, Development Later!
The Issue
📍 Petition to:
YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia
Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister
Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, Deputy Prime Minister
YB Tuan Prabakaran Parameswaran, MP for Batu
YBhg. Dato' Seri TPr (Dr.) Maimunah binti Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur
🚨 Why This Petition Matters
We, the concerned residents of Taman Intan Baiduri and surrounding areas, are extremely upset and fed up thus urgently call on the government to halt three high-density housing developments planned in our community until critical infrastructure upgrades are made and proper reassessment of the developments near our already overcrowded community:
🚨 What’s Happening?
Three massive projects are in the pipeline:
Rumah Belia Madani – 1,048 units (24 storeys) with only 2-storey parking???
Residensi Wilayah – 797 units (28 & 22 storeys)
PPAM (Perumahan Penjawat Awam) – 192 units (32 storeys)
Combined, these will add over 2,000 residential units in an already congested area — with no corresponding expansion of roads, transport, or public infrastructure.
- Lot 59432 (PT 17703), Jalan Ke Taman Intan Baiduri dari Lebuhraya Lingkaran Tengah Dua (MRR2), Mukim Batu. (DBKL.JPRB.5284/2017)
- Lot PT 50316, Jalan Lingkaran Tengah Tengah II, Taman Intan Baiduri, Mukim Batu, KL. (DBKL.JPRB.1150/2022)
- Lot 52050, Jalan Intan Baiduri 5D, Taman Intan Baiduri, Mukim Batu, WPKL. (DBKL.JPRB.8060/2020)
⚠️ Why It’s a Crisis
Taman Intan Baiduri is served by only one single-lane road in and out, connecting to MRR2. This same road is shared daily by:
- Thousands of residents
- Students from 6 schools and various tadika/taska (SMK St. Mary, St Mary Primary School SK Intan Baiduri, Tadika Islam MAIWP Taman Intan Baiduri, SK Selayang Jaya, SK Selayang Utama)
- Emergency services- Hospital Selayang and Clinics.
- Commercial & industrial traffic - Kawasan Perindustrian Selayang Utama, Kedai-Kedai Intan Baiduri, Pasar Pagi Taman Intan Baiduri, Kedai Taman Selayang Jaya, Taman Selayang Utama, Taman Intan Baiduri Low Cost Flat, Taman Melati, Taman Bidara
- 10+ neighboring communities - and many blocks of of PPR Intan Baiduri consists of 1834 units according to KPKT yet not all Malaysian are staying in it, the PPR is so undergoverned! What is the point building more?
- No new roads, flyovers, or public transport solutions (MRT?) proposed
- Shutting the main road to Taman Intan Baiduri to give way to projects and removing the Monsoon drain that may cause severe flood!
- ✊The result? Daily traffic jams, long delays, and safety hazards. If these developments proceed without infrastructure upgrades, life here will become unlivable.
