Dear Neighbors,
Thank you for getting us past the 1500 mark!
Update: in December, against strenuous objection, the Town Board passed their controversial resolution to allow 1500 high-density apartments along and adjacent to Maxess Road in Melville… with no data-informed impact statement, no mitigation strategies, and no master plan.
Development of this scale WILL have impacts on groundwater, traffic, schools, emergency services, and more. But the Town Board has no method in place to assess or mitigate these impacts, leaving it up to developers to conduct their own “studies.”
It’s more important now than ever to get our petition to the 2000 mark! In an election year, such numbers can make all the difference. And after the fall election, it will behoove the new Town Board to pay attention to our demand to hold them accountable to the Comprehensive Plan.
So please continue to share on social media, by email, text, or DM!
Thanks so much!
Your neighbor,
Kat
