Petition updateStop Overdevelopment at North Park PlazaDon't be Fooled!

We’ve now heard the councillor say she is “trying to alleviate any confusion” by suggesting the upcoming meeting is only about one residential tower on the partially vacant parcel.

If this meeting is truly just about one tower, then the question is simple: will the councillor support directing City of Toronto staff to oppose the proposed Official Plan Amendment tied to the larger mega-development?

You can’t have it both ways. The notice clearly refers to “Development Applications” for North Park Plaza — plural — and highlights the entire parcel of land. That language is not accidental. It reflects the broader scope of what’s being advanced.

An Official Plan Amendment is not a minor technical step. It lays the groundwork for intensification across the site. Approving the policy framework now makes everything else easier later — especially when fewer people are paying attention.

Let’s keep everyone honest. If this is about one tower, separate it. If it’s about a larger redevelopment, say so clearly.

Keep the councillor accountable. Ask City staff to formally separate the two matters and address them transparently.
