The ONLY public meeting in California about Washington's dangerous new offshore drilling plan is this Thursday, February 8 in Sacramento. The event gives concerned Californians the opportunity to hear from federal officials proposing to open up nearly all U.S. coastal waters to drilling. At one event, hundreds of people rallied at Santa Monica Pier in Southern California to Protect the Pacific from Washington’s dangerous offshore drilling plan. Set against the scenic Santa Monica Bay, local elected leaders, environmental organizations and community groups roused the crowd with diverse perspectives on the numerous negative impacts of offshore oil and gas drilling to our economy and environment.
