A new bill to help coop owners has recently been introduced  - Intro 1197 by Council members Linda Lee and Sandra Ung: 

This bill would count outside green space as part of total square feet in counting building emissions: It would also adjust penalties based on whether coops had made previous retrofits before Local Law 97 was even passed: And third it would reduce or eliminate penalties based on coop value In other words its goal is to eliminate the financial hardship of middle class; moderate income and fixed income outer boro coop owners  

So far 12 Council members are sponsoring the bill
