It is interesting to note that some of the biggest voices for Local Law 97 past and present and NO exemptions for co-ops (not even garden apt co-ops who will be esp financially strained) are themselves exempt from Local Law 97 because they either live in a private house or in a building under 25,000 square feet.  . The spokesperson for NY Communities of Change who influenced the introduction of Local Law 97 Into the NYC Council and is frequently quoted in articles on Local Law 97 lives in a building under 25,000 square feet.
