Here is a recent article that was just published (it is a 2 part article). Initially, I thought garden apartment co-ops like the ones I lived in were the ones who were struggling the most about how the heck they were going to be able to afford Local Law 97 requirements. I was wrong.

Since then I have read in an article that the financial officer of Dorie Miller apartments in Corona said it would cost $15 million to comply and replace everything with electrical boilers. They don't have 15 million and this could spell financial ruin for them. It's a shame especially because they were one of the first integrated housing developments when they were built.

This article also names Queensview Co-ops in Astoria as another co-op that Local Law 97 could be in financial jeopardy with the expensive proposition of complying with Local Law 97.
