The risks associated with storing such waste are substantial, including potential leaks and contamination of water sources. This includes prioritizing sites that are already industrialized or are much more geologically stable. Additionally, we should advocate for a National Nuclear Waste Strategy that does not disproportionately affect one single area but instead fairly distributes risks across regions willing to responsibly manage them.

Idahoans are known for their resilience and community spirit. We have the power to change the course of this decision. By speaking out and insisting on a fairer, safer approach to nuclear waste storage, we can protect our land and preserve it for future generations.
