The Issue

I am deeply troubled by the recent decision of the American company NovaRed to hire Kristi Noem and I feel compelled to bring awareness to this issue. Her track record has a potential impact on our society and it is crucial that we address the implication of this hiring decision and question what it means for our future.

Kristi Noem known for her polarizing opinions and controversial policies, especially during her tenure as a public servant, poses potential risks if she brings the same approach to NovaRed.

During her tenure as head of the U.S Department of Homeland Security, she faced severe public criticism and formal inquiries.  Accusations include defying federal courts orders to halt deportations, misleading the public regarding civilian casualties, and drawing scrutiny from international human rights.

She is also the Special Envoy for the U.S-led regional security organization Shield of the Americas. As someone who has repeatedly compromised relations with Canada by publicly referring to our country as the "51st state" and warning that Canada "will feel the pain" if it does not bend to external trade demands, this posting is utterly troubling.  An American corporation should not provide a paid platform to an individual who actively undermines Canadian independence.

NovaRed operates in a sector where trust and ethical conduct should be paramount. Hiring someone with a controversial background questions their commitment to ethical practices. Additionally, her involvement could potentially sway company operations and policies in ways that may not align with our values.
