Nova Herod has enforced these things for too long without proper student consideration. We need this to stop now and the school must begin to consider their actions!

Nova Herod has seen an inflation in their food prices! Just before the 2024/2025 Year, a main meal cost £1.90, whereas since then, the price has increased to £2.40 in just the span of two years (which is a 20%+ increase) for a slice of pizza or something similar! It is not just the meal, everything has increased significantly higher than it should, with cookies increasingly by 100% (£0.60 to £1.20) with no clarification and no information being given to students and parents as to why the rise is necessary. If this is truly justified the school should give a proper reason instead of making us spend more and more of our money (which we already spend enough of on uniform) on food - an essential. Imagine if the Price keeps increasing, will Free School Meals even be enough in the future for students who need it? 

And now, as of October 16th 2026, Nova Hreod has declared to all parents and students that they will further increase the price to £2.55 for the main meal. They also state that they have kept it the same for the last four years, however students and parents at Nova can all unanimously agree that this is not the case, the prices have kept on increasing and unless we do something it looks like they won't stop.

What's more important: going to school to get an actual education (which is compulsory at the ages Nova Herod is a school for) or to be judged at the door based off the uniform we wear? Instead of giving an appropriate punishment or warning for turning up with something incorrect in the uniform policy, this school does not even allow you to be in lessons, in front of experts in the subject. Students are removed from lessons and sent to isolation (reflection) if the issue cannot be resolved immediately, and sometimes it can take longer than it should. 

It is almost like airport security, you are stopped if they spot something incorrect before you actually get into the actual main corridors! They say that uniform is really important when there is no valid conclusion from available evidence from multiple sources that proves strict uniform policies improve students' grades by the end, yet the school believes this and uses this as their driving force to enforce such a strict policy.

We do not wish to target any specific teachers here, we recorgnise that each school may have its strengths and weaknesses, but these two specific ones have been around for a long time now and it is not the first time someone rightfully wants to highlight their policies. This is not the first and it definitely won't be the last if nothing gets changed.
